our language lies

I think our language use itself deserves a skeptical look. We read about "The people's Republic of China" and the "Democratic Republic of the Congo." (!) But when we use these terms just because they are "official," we are lieing to ourselves and to others. Of course, there are reasons for such lies, but in a more advanced society and world, it would not happen.
