Is my pension going to be worth anything ?

I have been paying into a final salary pension scheme for ten years, i currently pay about £90 a month. The company stopped accepting applications for this scheme shortly after i started it. Many people who pay nothing into a pension say they will be just as well off as me and that i am wasting my money. Are they right ?
