Moving to minneapolis, need advice!?

So, I am going to school in Minneapolis. It is in the "downtown warehouse district." I need to find an apartment but I have no idea how to search for places close to that on craigslist. The craigslist neighborhood option tabs are: "all minneapolis," "hennepin co," "ramsey co," "anok/chis/isa," "washington/WI," "dakota/scott," and "carv/sher/wri." Which tab should I select to search for an apartment near the school?

Also, how horrible is the weather from October-December? Those are the months I will be there.
