I want to start performance tuning my Honda, where do I begin?

I would like to know, preferably by car enthuiasts and honda experts, what is the first base option I should take to begin improving my car's performance. To help you guys out I have a 2012 Honda Civic LX Sedan. I know the parts are limited because it's a relatively new car, I did some mild research and I want to focus on acceleration, then top-speed, then handling, in that order. I would greatly appreciate if some prices were thrown out there so I can be reasonable. I'm not a wanna-be racer or anything like that.
