Hagane no Renkinjutsushi Season 2 (Full Metal Alchemist)

Shockingly, new season of Hagane no Renkinjutsushi is going out sometime this year; it is said going to be released in April - in the 2009 Summer line-up. I can't wait to see the actions. Hope that it will range from 50 episodes.

It is said that it will follow more closely to the manga's storyline, therefore, expect more action, more blood, more alchemy!

The director is going to be Yasuhiro Irie - quite well known for the work like RahXephon, Macros Plus amongst others.

I missed the original series (and watched some with horrible local subbing), but definitely won't be missing this!

The 'new' season is going to follow the manga, so it will be a re-run.

Although, the first season is also worth watching.

I still have the old VCD of the first season.

I'd ask for a loan if it wasn't for my FYP being due in a months time...

Considering you said VCD, how's the subbing? I do have a DVD copy from a cousin but the subs are so bad I stopped watching a few episodes in...

The subs is so-so. Normal English. Some of the terms are not appropriate for the dialogue, i.e. technical terms.

But overall, it's still ok.

This 'new season' is a remake of the whole story, of which, it follows the manga very closely as they can, compared to the old one.

Not an OVA either. This also the reason why I said 'new season'. Plus at the moment I post this thing there is little information on the series and how the story will be. In a way, labelling it as a new season is also not wrong.

Either way, you can actually watch the old season and this new one without getting confused. The stroyline is pretty much the same just how deep it goes.

Episode one serve as a recap episode. Somehow it gives the feeling that this series will focus more on what the first season missed.

The animation quality is completely amazing. Although Roy's voice is a bit matured.

Other than that, there is a high chance of this series being one of the best anime of thing Spring.
