Monitor Problem Plz Help?

My monitor was working fine for about 7 yrs now its a samsung SyncMasster 793s. between the screen was getting dull when i turn off and turn on the monitor while the system is running but now my screen is not getting turned on at all even when i switch on my system the logon sound is played but my monitor is not displaying anythng plz help me
