Basement cold air return?
Hello folks. I need some help.
After finishing my basement, I now notice that the cold air returns are not sucking air from the 2nd floor of my house. How can I correct this? I understand the furnace works best when it is open and all the duct work is exposed. But how is one to finish their basement and still ensure good air circulation in the home, particularly in the upper floors?
Thank you in advance for any assistance you can offer.

The storm windows add the finish touch to prevent noise entry into the WindowShades area of the room.
