Will adding water to a dirty fish bowl relieve the fish a bit? Empty Will adding water to a dirty fish bowl relieve the fish a bit?

First of all, the fish isn't mine, and its owner will clean the bowl this weekend. But the water is pretty dirty and the fish is always sucking air at the surface. Will diluting the water with clean water help a bit?
